Lampworking, also known as flameworking, is a discipline and a craft: the artisan practice of shaping glass rods and tubes using a torch flame. Practiced since ancient times, it has been used to create beads, sculptures, scientific instruments, and decorative art. The glass is heated until it becomes molten and malleable, then shaped by hand using tools, gravity, and breath.
